Countries footage

Image
For my footage I will look in pexels.com and pixabay.com although the variety there is not as much as I would like to, I have looked for more footage links, luckily I will find whatever I want about the countries, such as their flags (Mexico, Colombia, Palestine, Jordan, Hong Kong, Iran) some videos of their cities or iconic places, or even my characters walking in there. I asked Gaby, from Colombia, if she could send me footage of Dubai, since she lives there and it would be the kind of footage I've been waiting for. I should look for famous streets or cultural sites, anything that can brake with any stereotype.

Editing Pt.1

Image
I will be completely, honest. I have one country so far, I am not worried because I will do it eventually with time. It is not worth it to stress out about anything. I have edited what I have so far and sent it to my teammate leaving in clear that she could only add, not modify. I sent her my Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 and lets see what happens. I want a rough cut, just adding stuff, not changing. I know myself and I will get upset if someone changes my own work. We add footage in Adobe Premiere Pro 2020.When we see each other we will edit together so we could be on the same channel. Not editing together has made it kind of hard for us to agree. But patience is the mother of all sciences. If I'm being honest, it will require a bit more patience than I thought. At first, I tried to please my teammate, but some of the ideas were not matching with my principal idea, but I still did them anyways. My teacher told me my idea was good and asked me why did I change it. Always trust your inst...

Documentary making part 1

For the interviews, we had to film Gabriela first, who represents Colombia in this project. She was going back home sooner than expected, so we filmed her the day before she left. This was our first time filming the documentary, officially starting it. First interview and first country. This day would be useful for us so we can improve our next interviews and techniques in case we change our minds about anything. Because it just happens. She felt comfortable in the interview, although she had to repeat some scenes because of laughter or word-choking, but it is completely natural and normal. We filmed it on campus and had this idea of using the same background for everyone, but I want RR 2020 too feel more personal and engaging to the audience so they can feel identified, or understand. I am about to edit the first part of this documentary with Colombia with some footage of Bogotá, the city she is from, and some cultural and political sights. Slightly harsh to see, for everyone. No...

Story Time - Plot Time

Image
These are my notes from the Storytelling Lecture with Jeremy Sheldon. I am planning on using 7y for my documentary, although it does not exist yet and my reference is 2b, but hopefully we can work something out while filming and editing.

Equipment

For Real Reality 2020 , I think we're going to need: Camera Tripod Microphone Light reflector So far, we'll see when we book them. In conclusion, two Sony PXW-X70 Kit, because they contain Camera, Tripod and Microphone. Afarin will provide the lights. LED lights. We will book as Catherine said there is an option to book for after the 9th od December, so we will book the equipment by then.

Aim

The aim of this documentary is to represent what is been talked about in casual random conversations, and as an individual, we feel powerless to talk about the truth in front of the reality controlling and gossipy media. To show that there is more that what is shown, that there is a background, and a reason and a history; a cause of it. To show a more opened side of any situation that is being talked about so that the audience can create a more objective judgment and flexible set of mind.

Central Ideas for "Real Reality 2020" (Aguilera Rahnama, United Kingdom, 2020)

To present another face of reality. To show the misconceive of reality presented by the media out in the world. Media manipulation towards the audience. From a local to an international view, from a university student's point of view.  The students that will be interviewed will relate it in a more informal and comfortable way. Conversational interview focused in their point of view. Open secrets about history, actuality and the future that might or might not come. What some people think it is, but it is not. And what people know it is and their frustration towards the misunderstanding from others.
